Some individuals appear to believe that submitting multiple nominations improves their chances of selection. It does not. AFLI accepts only a single nomination for an individual. Multiple nominations may result in them being administratively declined from proceeding to the application phase.
Because we accept only a single nomination, please work closely with your nominator to produce a powerful case for why you would be a good candidate for the Tutu Fellowship Programme. We are interested in thoughtful insights by the nominator who has good standing and a relationship of their nominee to motivate why that individual could be a good Tutu Fellow. Without a strong nomination, a nominee is unlikely to proceed to the application phase.
Nominators, check with your candidate FIRST before submitting a nomination. They may already have been nominated.
Do not put out a call on social media or in a bulk email to your contacts to nominate you. Individuals with high numbers of nominations will be removed from consideration entirely and will be banned from applying again in future.
We will not tolerate flooding or abuse of our process.
