The 2026 Tutu Fellowship Programme Cohort has been selected
The Associates for the 2026 Archbishop Tutu Fellowship Programme have been selected.
All shortlisted candidates who were notified of this on 11 December 2025 should have received an email on 1 February 2026 as to whether they were selected or not. Some candidates who were not selected will also have been sent an email notifying them that they were placed on the Reserve List for 2026, in the event any selectees are unable to participate this year. If you were shortlisted but did not appear to have received the 1 February email, please check your spam folder and please whitelist AFLI emails. If you are unable to find your email, please contact AFLI.
Candidates who were not shortlisted were notified on 9 December that their applications were unsuccessful.
To every candidate who submitted an application, whether successful or not, thank you. We have been delighted to learn more about your leadership journey.
On a continent blessed with outstanding young leaders, we are fortunate that the Archbishop Tutu Fellowship Programme continues to attract the extraordinary people who were nominated and applied. We received hundreds of nominations of outstanding quality from all across the continent, and to pick around 20 from this remarkable, talented pool was a difficult task for the selection panels. Often the margins between candidates are paper thin. If you wish, you may apply again in future years, provided you are within the age range. Your circumstances may well evolve, yielding new leadership successes to share. You may also find that, on reflection, you are able to put forward a more compelling case for your selection in the application process in future. Some candidates were selected on their second or even third application submission.
