Archbishop Tutu Fellowship Selection Site
2025 Cohort of the Tutu Fellowship Programme
To our 2025 Tutu Fellowship Candidates, thank you for your applications. The selection process has concluded and the AFLI Board has approved the Associates selected for the 2025 cohort of the African Leadership Fellowship Programme. They were invited to join the programme on Monday 3 February and onboarding is ongoing. Once the cohort is finalised, a public announcement will be made in due course.
On a continent blessed with outstanding young leaders, we are fortunate that the Archbishop Tutu Fellowship Programme attracts the extraordinary subset of young people that it does. We received more than 900 nominations of outstanding quality from all across the continent, and to pick fewer than 20 from this remarkable, talented pool was a difficult task for the selection panels. Often the margins between candidates were paper thin. We recognize that for the hundreds who aren't selected, the news that they weren't will inevitably be disappointing. But being nominated is itself recognition, and we encourage those who aren't successful in their first application to seek nomination again - if age permits - as resumes evolve.
Every candidate who submitted an application should have received an email by now, advising them of the status of their application. Most were emailed in November 2024 and the remainder were emailed this week (Feb 2025). If you applied and do not appear to have received one, please check your spam folder for an email from this domain - tutufellows.africa.
Subscribe for news and announcements
For individuals interested in future cohorts, please subscribe to the AFLI newsletter list. The call for nominations and other communications on the process and deadlines will be sent by email to subscribers later this year. We will also send subscribers an announcement about the 2026 Cohort. After that announcement, we will also update the Key Dates and Deadlines Page with the timetable for the 2026 Cohort.
