The Tutu Fellowship Programme Class of 2023
To candidates who submitted an application, thank you for your interest. Everyone who applied for a slot in the Class of 2023 has been sent an email notifying them of the status of their application. For the vast majority, it was unfortunately an email of regret in not having been selected. Candidates who were selected have been sent an email from the AFLI site notifying them of their selection, along with documents that must be signed and returned for acceptance into the programme.
On a continent blessed with outstanding young leaders, we are fortunate that the Archbishop Tutu Fellowship Programme attracts an extraordinary subset of young people such as those who applied. We received around 375 nominations of outstanding quality from more than 30 countries, and were able to pick only 17 from this remarkable talented pool - a difficult task for the selection panel. As one would imagine, the selection process was highly competitive with selectors being asked to distinguish leadership potential among an exceptional group of candidates. Often the margins between candidates were paper thin.
